Biography: Sumru Yavrucuk was born on September 24, 1961 in Ankara. She started her theater education in the Singing and Theater departments of the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory and then, she was transferred to the Singing Department of the Ankara State Conservatory in 1979. In 1982, she joined the staff of the Istanbul State Theater. Sumru Yavrucuk has more than 40 awards, including the most prestigious awards of cinema and theater such as Golden Orange, Golden Cocoon, Afife Jale, and Sadri Alisik awards. She played the leading role in many theatre plays at the Istanbul State Theater: Yasar Ne Yasar Ne Yasamaz, Macbeth, Kadinlardan Konusalim, and Leenane’nin Guzellik Kralicesi. After her retirement, she worked with various associations. She also directed and acted in theatre plays. Sumru Yavrucuk became popular with her role as Feride in television series Foreign Groom (Yabanci Damat). After that, she has taken part in various television projects such as Everything About Marriage, What is Fatmagul’s Fault?, No 309.
