Synopsis

Halis Agha (Cetin Tekindor) is the head of Korhanli family who founds a large jewelry company from nothing. He is an authoritarian man who always says the last word in the family. Even though he has some health problems and leaves the family business to his son Orhan, he still continues to make important decisions.

Ferit (Mert Ramazan Demir) is the grandson of Halis Agha. He graduates from a university in the USA just because his family wants to send him away as a punishment. After returning to Istanbul, Ferit continues his carefree and reckless life.

Ferit is just the opposite of his brother Fuat (Dogukan Polat) and his father Orhan (Emre Altug). He is not obedient and he wants to live as he wishes. However, he is dependent on his family’s financial assistance, and for this reason, he has no courage to rebel against his family.

When Halis Agha is tired of Ferit’s reckless behaviors, he decides to make him get married to someone from his hometown Gaziantep. He charges his eldest daughter-in-law Ifakat (Gulcin Santircioglu) to find a nice girl who is suitable for Korhanli family. Ferit has nothing to do but accept this marriage. He thinks that his marriage would be on paper and he could continue to live as he wants.

In order to find a perfect bride for Korhanli family, Ifakat goes to Gaziantep and starts to look for prospective brides. This news becomes so popular in Gaziantep because Korhanli family is one of the wealthiest families in Istanbul.

Kazim (Diren Polatogullari) is one of the wealthiest families in Gaziantep too. He has two daughters Suna (Beril Pozam) and Seyran (Afra Saracoglu). He wants his daughters to get married to rich men. Thus, he does not want to lose the opportunity to be in-laws with the Korhanli family.

Ifakat sees Suna and decides that she is the right bride for Korhanli family. She informs the Korhanli family and calls Ferit and his parents to Gaziantep in order to ask for Suna’s hand in marriage.

When Ferit comes to Gaziantep, he wants to wander around for a bit. Out of pure coincidence, Ferit bumps into Seyran without knowing that they are supposed to become brother-in-law and sister-in-law. The two do not get along well at first and Seyran says that she would never meet him again.

Soon after, Korhanli family goes to Suna’s house to ask for her hand in marriage. However, Ferit wants to get married to Seyran instead of Suna. The father Kazim accepts it without thinking about his daughters and without thinking how this would affect his family.

The lives of Suna and Seyran turn upside down. Suna is the elder daughter in the family and if she cannot get married before her younger sister, the conservative people in the city would talk about it negatively. On the other hand, Seyran has no intention to get married because she wants to continue her education. Without thinking about his daughters, Kazım approves of Seyran’s marriage with Ferit. He is so happy to be in-laws with Korhanli family.

Golden Boy (Yali Capkini) tv series story is about young girl Seyran who is forced to get married to a womanizer rich boy Ferit. Will Ferit manage to continue his life as he wishes after he accepts to get married? Will Seyran manage to continue her education after she gets married? Will Seyran get along well with Korhanli family? Will Ferit and Seyran get along well after they know each other more and more? Will Suna find peace after her sister goes to Istanbul? Will Ferit and Pelin continue their relationship after Ferit gets married to Seyran? Will Seyran get used to her new life in Korhanli house? Will Asuman and Fuat eventually have a baby? Will Suna start to make revenge plans to get back her stolen future?

Characters:

Ferit Korhan (Mert Ramazan Demir):

Ferit is the grandson of Halis Agha. He is so extravert, funny and cheerful. He is a womanizer. Even though he dates with his girlfriend Pelin, he knows that he is not in love with her. Ferit graduates from a university in the USA just because his family wants to send him away as a punishment. After coming to Istanbul, Ferit continues his carefree life. He wants to live as he wants to but he has no courage to rebel against his family due to financial issues. When his grandfather Halis Agha wants him to get married to someone from Gaziantep, Ferit accepts this. He thinks that his marriage would be on paper and he could continue to live as he wants.

Seyran Sanli (Afra Saracoglu):

Seyran is the daughter of Kazim. She was born and raised in Gaziantep. She is beautiful, successful, and headstrong. Since her father is from one of the wealthiest families in Gaziantep, Seyran has a chance to learn two languages: English and French. However, Seyran is tired of the pressure from her father and her aunt. She wants to continue her education and wants to study sculpture and painting. Even though she does not want to get married, she cannot stand against her family’s pressure. Seyran gets married to Ferit even though she does not love her.

Suna Sanli (Beril Pozam):

Suna is Seyran’s elder sister. She is beautiful and naïve. Just like her sister, Suna also had a chance to learn two languages: English and French. Contrary to her sister, Suna is gentle, obedient, and silent. She wants to have a good marriage and wants to escape from her father’s pressure.

Halis Korhan Agha (Cetin Tekindor):

Halis is the head of the Korhanli family. He was born in Gaziantep and became a successful businessman in Istanbul. He is authoritarian and is attached to his traditions. He always says the last word and most of the time, he does not listen to his children. After he loses his trust to his grandson Ferit, he makes a hard decision and wants Ferit to get married to someone from Gaziantep.

Hattuc Sanli (Serif Sezer):

Hattuc is the aunt of Kazim. Seyran and Suna also call her an aunt. Even though Hattuc was raised in a rich family, she is now aware of the fact that they are not as rich as before. For this reason, she controls every penny in the family. Kazim listens to his aunt Hattuc and gives her the power to manage domestic affairs. Hattuc never gets married and lives together with her nephew Kazim and his family.

Ifakat Korhan (Gulcin Santircioglu):

Ifakat is the eldest daughter-in-law of Halis Agha. Ifakat is a widow woman. Years ago, her husband and her son passed away in a car accident. Ifakat is a very dangerous woman who can do anything to be powerful. She has huge power in the Korhanli family. She wants to maintain her power by being close to her father-in-law Halis Agha and at the same time, by having a secret love affair with her brother-in-law Orhan.

Orhan Korhan (Emre Altug):

Orhan is the son of Halis Agha. He is married to Gulgun and the couple has two sons: Ferit and Fuat. Orhan always does whatever his father wants and never argues with him. He gets married to Gulgun because of his family even though he does not love her. Orhan has a secret love affair with Ifakat.

Gulgun Korhan (Gozde Kansu):

Gulgun is married to Orhan and has two sons Ferit and Fuat. Gulgun knows that her husband Orhan has a love affair with Ifakat but she pretends that she does not know anything. She does not want to end her marriage and just wants to be loved by her husband. Gulgun is so helpful, understanding, and friendly towards her sister-in-laws Asuman and Seyran. She wants to do her best to protect her sons.

Abidin (Ersin Arici):

Abidin is one of the employees of Korhanli family. He takes care of Ferit and becomes his close friend. Abidin does his best so that Ferit would not get into trouble.

Kazim Sanli (Diren Polatogullari):

Kazim is the father of Seyran and Suna. He was raised in a rich family and wants to continue his luxurious life by selling the lands inherited from his father. Even though he spends so much money, he never lets his family spend it. He wants his daughters to get married to rich men. For this reason, he does not want to lose the opportunity to be in-laws with the Korhanli family. When Ferit wants to get married to Seyran instead of Suna, Kazim accepts it without thinking about his daughters and without thinking how this would affect his family.

Esme Sanli (Sezin Bozaci):

Esme is the mother of Seyran and Suna. She is always humiliated by her husband. She cannot give birth to a baby boy and for this reason, she is despised by her husband. She is silent and works as a servant.

Asuman Korhan (Oznur Serceler):

Asuman is the wife of Fuat. She does not like that her husband Fuat stays in the shadow of Ferit. Asuman wants to give a birth to Korhanli family but she has some health problems.

Fuat Korhan (Dogukan Polat):

Fuat is Ferit’s elder brother. His father Orhan always values Fuat more than Ferit because Fuat is hardworking and obedient. Fuat is unassured and silent. He gets married to Asuman because of his family and then, he loves his wife so much. In the family business, Fuat always stays in the background but now, he wants to get more power.

Pelin (Buce Buse Kahraman):

Pelin is Ferit’s girlfriend. She comes from a wealthy family. She accepts Ferit’s marriage just because she thinks that this marriage would be on paper and her relationship with Ferit would not change. However, when she realizes that Ferit develops some feelings towards Seyran, she tries her best to end this marriage.

Yusuf (Umut Gezer):

Yusuf is Seyran’s boyfriend. He goes to the same high school together with Seyran. He wants to get married to Seyran immediately after Suna gets married. However, he cannot find the courage to escape with Seyran when he learns that Seyran is getting married to Ferit. Due to this reason, Yusuf becomes so angry toward himself and Korhanli family and wants to get his revenge.

Sultan (Irem Altug):

Sultan is a servant at the Korhanli house.

Ibrahim (Cansu Firinci):

Ibrahim is Sultan’s husband.

Dicle (Selen Ozbayrak):

Dicle is the daughter of Sultan and Ibrahim.

Sefika (Hulya Duyar):

Sefika is a cook at the Korhanli house.
