Synopsis

Efe (Ekin Koc) is an idealist police captain who works at organized crime branch in Istanbul. He is fearless, reckless and lawless. He does anything to arrest culprits and secure the justice.

Efe is very successful at work. He has been working to arrest a mafia leader Kartal (Uraz Kaygilaroglu) for the last 6 months but cannot find enough evidence to put him behind bars.

Kartal lives in a Romani neighborhood called Cingirakli. He is a gypsy crime boss who is responsible for protecting that neighborhood. He has night clubs, runs illegal casinos and operates online gambling websites.

Kartal is fearless and aims to make his business bigger. He not only takes attention of the police but also of other mafia leaders in Istanbul.

Even though Efe knows what kinds of illegal activities that Kartal engages in, he does not have enough evidence to arrest him.

Out of pure coincidence, a series of murders bring these two opposing characters together: a hardboiled police captain Efe and a gypsy crime boss Kartal.

When a series of murder is committed in Romani neighborhood, Efe and Kartal team up and work together to bring the killer to justice.

Kartal’s authority has been shaken by these murders. At first, he assumes that these murders are committed by his opponents. However, soon after, he is also attacked by a serial killer Irfan (Diren Polatogullari).

Irfan is a mysterious man who seems to be silent and introverted. He works as a saz player at traditional night clubs. He starts to commit murders in order to take his revenge. After each murder, he leaves three pennies at the murder scene.

In order to find a serial killer, Kartal has nothing to do but to work together with his biggest enemy Efe. He needs to find a serial killer in order to restore his authority in the neighborhood.

The Bad Penny (Uc Kurus) tv series story is about a gypsy crime boss in a Romani neighborhood and an idealist police captain at organized crime branch. Will Efe eventually enough evidence to arrest Kartal? Will Efe and Kartal manage to work successfully and find the serial killer? Will Kartal make his business bigger? Will Kartal manage to protect the people in the Romani neighborhood?

Kartal Caka (Uraz Kaygilaroglu):

Kartal is a gypsy crime boss who is responsible for protecting a Romani neighborhood called Cingirakli. He has night clubs, runs illegal casinos and operates online gambling websites. He can do anything to protect the people of Romani neighborhood. He is tough, different, and clever. When a series of murder is committed in his neighborhood, his authority has been shaken. Thus, he has nothing to do but to work together with his biggest enemy Efe in order to find a serial killer.

Efe Tekin (Ekin Koc):

Efe is an idealist police captain who works at organized crime branch in Istanbul. He is fearless, reckless, rebellious and lawless. He does anything to arrest culprits and secure the justice. He has been working to arrest Kartal for the last 6 months but cannot find enough evidence. In order to find a serial killer, he has to cooperate with Kartal involuntarily.

Leyla Caka (Aslihan Malbora):

Leyla is Kartal’s sister. She is crazy, headstrong, high-energy, cool and attractive. She lives freely as she wishes. Even though she hates police officers, she slowly is drawn to Efe.

Irfan Kahraman (Diren Polatogullari):

Irfan is a serial killer. He has a dark past related to Kartal and starts to take his revenge.

Bahar Yondel (Nesrin Cavadzade):

Bahar is the daughter of a mafia leader Nezih. She is smart, cold and beautiful. After meeting Kartal, she starts to develop some feelings towards him.

Neriman Caka (Nursel Kose):

Neriman is Kartal’s aunt who lives together with him in Romani neighborhood. She has never got married.

Oktay Caka (Civan Canova):

Oktay is Kartal’s father. He used to be a popular clarinet player with a nickname of Roman Delon. After his left arm is disabled, he loses his hope and gives up everything.

Halit Kuyucu (Ercan Kesal):

Halit is an experienced police captain who works together with Efe and Batuhan. He is the mentor of Efe.

Batuhan Gurlek (Aytac Usun):

Batuhan is a police officer who works together with Efe. He loves and admires Efe amd does anything whatever Efe says.

Bulent (Burak Altay):

Bulent is a police captain at organized crime branch. He opposes with Efe after the start of a series of murders.

Rusen Karac (Mustafa Kirantepe):

Rusen is Kartal’s right-hand man. He is a religious person who knows the rules and norms of the dark world.

Sesu (Ugur Yildiran):

Sesu is Kartal’s right-hand man. He is fond of money, women, alcohol and fun. He loves Perihan who is a local dancer in the pavilion.

Sahin Caka (Umutcan Utebay):

Sahin is Kartal’s brother. He is fond of gambling and wants to be the leader just like his brother.

Halide Caka (Damla Makar):

Halide is Kartal’s cousin. She is a beautiful and attractive girl. She has big goals in life.
