Biography: Emel Dede was born on April 18, 1989 in Istanbul. She completed her high school education at Istanbul Ataturk Girls’ High School. She studied economics at Istanbul University. She has been interested in music since her childhood. During her elementary school years, she sang in the school choir. During her high school years, she took an active part in the music club. During her university years, she took training for violin at Istanbul University Turkish Music State Conservatory. In 2012, she participated in the “Ses Turkiye” competition and made it to the finals. Then she sang in the program “O Ses Turkiye New Year’s Eve Special”. In 2013, she released her debut album titled “It’s a Good Thing to Live” (Yasamak Guzel Sey). The songs “Yasamak Guzel Sey”, “Bana Ne” and “Olmaz Olsun” from the album were highly appreciated. In 2014, she became a jury member of the “Ses Turkiye” competition and served as a jury member until 2018. In 2019, she released her second album titled “It’s a Good Thing to Live 2”. The songs “Yasamak Guzel Sey 2”, “Beni Sev” and “Ask Olsun” from the album were highly appreciated. In 2020, she returned to the jury of the “O Ses Turkiye” competition. Emel Dede got married to businessman Ali Ozturk in 2017. The couple has a daughter.
