Biography: Atakan Hosgoren was born on August 5, 1999 in Istanbul. He is of Albanian descent. He is the youngest of 4 siblings. His father was a car mechanic and his mother was a housewife. He used to be a professional basketball player. He started to play basketball at the age of 7 and played basketball in Besiktas’s youth team for 5 years. Even though he was aiming to become a basketball player, he got injured and he had to quit. During high school, he made a contract with a talent agency and was introduced to theater in high school. Atakan Hosgoren started his university education at Dogus University, Business Administration but dropped out of school. Currently, he is studying media education at Istanbul University. Atakan Hosgoren had his first acting experience in 2017 with the series Yıldızlar Şahidim. Apart from acting, he is interested in electric guitar and martial arts. From the Interview with Atakan Hosgoren

If you weren't an actor, what kind of Atakan Hosgoren would be sitting in front of me right now?

If I wasn’t an actor, I’d probably be either a trader or a pilot. When I was a child, I thought it was a privilege to be a pilot. Then I realized that acting was also a privilege. I started on this path as an amateur. While I was taking part in commercials, I liked the set environment. “4N1K” came along and that’s when I got my hopes up that I could do something in acting in the future. I’m glad I didn’t become a pilot, I became an actor.

What first catches your attention in a girl?

I attach great importance to her intelligence. I can’t say, “This is how it should be” in terms of appearance. A different type gets my attention and I start talking to her.

When you like someone very much, how do you open yourself?

If I like a girl, I don’t wait. I’m a bit of Ali’s opposite in that regard. If I like her, I state that I like her.

How do you plan to improve yourself in the field of acting in the future?

I continue to receive my education in the field of acting. My highest goal in this area is Hollywood. I also attend university. Other than that, new things like electric guitar and martial arts.

Were there any other players in the family?

No, my father was a car mechanic and my mother was a housewife. No one was interested in art. My dream was to become a basketball player. I started playing when I was 7 years old. I was very good, I was agile, I was fast. But I got injured. Life can sometimes push you to unexpected places. I had to quit. I was depressed, so my mother signed me up for an agency at that time. I was introduced to theater in high school. I starred in commercials.

Why didn't you choose acting and instead study business administration?

My parents respected my ideas about acting, but they wanted something more concrete. For them, my future had to be in good hands. They said, “If you want to be an actor and life pushes you in that direction, then you get your education.”
